2012 Writing Contest

Thank you for all the entries into our first writing contest, and congradulations to our winner, David Wren. Our second contest is going to tap into the writer's personal passion for the art. We want to hear how you feel about writing and judge how earnest your zeal is. We know what motivates natural born writers and want to hear it straight from the horse's mouth. Delve deep into your reasons for why you love to write and tell us about them. The following are the submission guidelines for the October 2011 writing contest:
 
Contest opens for entries: February 28, 2012
Close-entry date: June 30, 2012
Winner announced: October 31, 2012

Category: Essay; word count between 500 to 3,000 words
Genre: Personal Introspection
Theme: Passion for writing

First Place Price: $50.00

General Guidelines: Entries must be post marked or emailed by the close-entry date. All entries must be accompanied with a cover letter stating: word count, genre, and theme, as well as the author’s home address and email address, if there is one. Emailed entries must have the cover letter and work as a separate Word document attachment and have been virus-checked. Mailed entries must be in 12 point Times New Roman font, double-spaced, and on single-sided paper. Mailed entries will not be returned.Entries will be judged on concepts taught in the Creative Writer’s Class. The class is available on the Project’s web site. Requests for a copy of the Creative Writer’s Class shall be available to the public at a reasonable cost, to be determined by printing and shipping to the requesting individual. Free versions of the class are available for download or review directly from the Project’s web site.There shall be one first place winner, who will be awarded a $50 cash prize and their work will be displayed on the Project’s web site.The Wolf Pirate Project strictly practices a nondiscriminatory policy and shall not decline entry into the contest, nor judge any entry on a discriminatory basis.(Contest winners do not entail selection as one of the four annually sponsored writers.)There is no entry or reading fee to participate in the contest.
